Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, a well-known personality with an illustrious background, Although a doctor by profession, his contribution to education and his compassion in bringing an awareness amongst the muslims in particular and the society at large through “Al-Ameen Movement” has been noteworthy. Not just his contribution to education, but also his towering personality, his guidance and his presence is something that generations will look up to and treasure. As a Pro-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University and former Senate member of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, he has played a vital role in these two great universities also. Under his able guidance & leadership “Al-Ameen Educational Society” & “Al-Ameen Movement” have blossomed, seeing new heights of growth and progress.

His decades of service for the institution as well as for the community through his vision & philanthropic mission is depicted from the popularity that he enjoys through the length & breadth of the country. He is one of those rare individuals whose sincere efforts has earned the support of people from all walks of life and this has been the key factor in taking “Al-Ameen” to greater heights.

He has been felicitated time and again by universities, sports & national authorities in recognition for his unique contribution to the community in general and the society at large by way of providing a thrust to the students, especially the weaker sections by giving them a golden opportunity to pursue courses of their choice all under the roof of “Al-Ameen”. His achievements are an honour not only to Dr.Mumtaz Ahmed Khan but to the entire “Al-Ameen Movement”

He is a recipient of a number of awards and recognitions & to name a few :-

  • Karnataka Rajyothsava Award for Excellence – 1990.
  • Kempegowda Award.
  • All India Community Leadership Award in 1985.
  • Award for Education in 2011 from His Holiness Sree Sree Sivakumar Swamiji of Sree Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur.
  • Honorary Doctorate for his contribution in the field of education by Tumkur University – 2011.
  • International Arya Bhatta Award for Education in 2011.
  • He has also been awarded with several Life Time Achievement Awards for his contribution to Education by Webster University, Thailand & Haldia Institute of Management, West Bengal and by several other organizations.
  • He has been conferred the title “Baba-e-Taleem” – Father of Education by the Alumni of Al-Ameen.
  • The Chief Minister of Karnataka had recommended his name for the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
