Inauguration of Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Digital Skills Lab on 18th Oct 2023

With the fast paced technological advancement taking the world by storm, Digital Skills have become a critical component of lifelong learning. Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies has identified technology beacons in order to incorporate the latest, high quality technological know-how in Management Education so that our students are on the forefront to face the ever growing global challenges. Thereby changing how people work & think.

Under the dynamic leadership of our Chairman, Mr. Umar Ismail Khan; Hon.Secretary, Mr. Zubair Anwar & Principal, Dr. B. A. Anuradha & as part of our commitment to strengthen our Knowledge Delivery System, Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies is offering continuous professional development opportunities to our students through high-levels of impact & top-quality education.

Having Dr. K Rahman Khan, Former Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Former Union Minister of Minority Affairs & Former Chairman of Al-Ameen Educational Society as today’s Chief Guest to inaugurate the newly established “Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Digital Skills Lab” has its own significance. Stalwarts & leaders like Late Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan & Dr. K Rahman Khan have set exemplars of what the young generation should be doing; for their outreach work has inadvertently enhanced the breadth & depth in providing quality education.

The programme commenced with Qirath by Arfath Khan, MBA student. Dr. B. A. Anuradha, Principal welcomed the Guests and gave a brief report on the achievements of Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies. She applauded Chairman & Hon.Secretary for their commitment & contribution in setting up the lab to foster to new age courses such as E-commerce, networking, digital marketing, social media marketing, data analytics, block chain technology, artificial intelligence & metaverse which provides different dimensions of Digital Skill proficiency.

Dr. K Rahman Khan was happy to note that Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies is setting up a Digital Lab with state-of-the-art technology. He spoke on the importance of digital era, especially for management students. He asked the students to get acquainted with the latest technology since digital knowledge & usage is changing every aspect of daily life through innovation. He shared with the students the growth of digitization over the past 35 years and how it has impacted the society especially after covid-19 and today he said, it is all about Artificial Intelligence. He said that Al-Ameen was the first institute in Karnataka to establish a computer lab facility with internet as early as 1995. Tata Institute, he said was the only other institute to have such facility. He said that we as Indians should be proud that our country has adopted technology much faster that other countries. He asked the students to embrace technology since individual growth is nation’s growth and this leads to growth in GDP & profitability.

Dr. F. S. B. Nasir, Principal, Al-Ameen Institute of Information Science thanked the Chairman & Hon.Secretary for their guidance and for entrusting him the responsibility of setting up the Digital Skills lab. He informed the gathering about the facilities made available and asked the students to make best use of the facilities in the computer lab.

Mr. Umar Ismail Khan, Chairman in his presidential address spoke about Dr. K Rahman Khan’s work & involvement especially as a senior congress leader to benefit the community & the nation. He also talked about the association of his father, Late Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan & Dr. K Rahman Khan and their contribution in making Al-Ameen what it is today. He hoped that our institute can play a role in educating, informing & providing a vision of the future of global development, by sparking the present generation, especially young students, make them see things in a different way, that’s the power of education he said. He made an impassioned appeal, challenging academics to come up with the “big new ideas” and students to study well, bring good grades, develop good character, be religiously inclined and to read the news paper daily to gain insight into the corporate world.

The occasion was graced by the Hon. Secretary, Mr. Zubair Anwar, Executive Council members of Al-Ameen Educational Society, Principals & Mr. Imran from London.

The opening addresses were followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, dua’a and a tour of the newly established lab facility.
