Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers & Educators Let’s get Inspired !
Teachers Day Celebrations on 5th Sep 2024 was organized by the Indian Society for Training & Development, Bangalore Chapter and hosted by Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies. The programme commenced with a recitation of Qirath by Dr. Mohammed Wajid, faculty and the welcome address was delivered by Dr. B. A. Anuradha, Principal. While wishing all the teachers a Happy Teachers Day, she said that “Without Teachers, Life would have No Class & that Students perceive Teachers as Stars” since teachers are the ones who exert such a remarkable influence in the transformation in students’ lives.
Mr. Manohar C. Chairman, ISTD, Bangalore Chapter in his introductory remarks spoke about Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad, the former president of India & Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, First Education Minister of free India, who was a scholar, patriot & a freedom fighter. These two stalwarts he said, where great teachers who believed in the importance of education for the development of the Country. He brought out the significance of attitude & aptitude in personality development.
Mr. Atul Sharma, National Vice-President, ISTD Bangalore Chapter in his address quoted Winston Churchill “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” He advised the students on how to make one’s life vibrant and suggested that one should toil hard to enhance knowledge & skills. He was happy to announce the launching of the first ever ISTD Students Chapter in Karnataka at Al-Ameen.
Dr. Manohar C officially launched the “Al-Ameen ISTD Students Chapter” with oath taking ceremony by the students. He said that this chapter is an opportunity to partnership with Industry & a great platform for networking & career advancement opportunities.
On the occasion, Mr. G. Varagha Swamy, Chairman, ISTD Jury spoke on the importance of transformation and asked the teachers to take up this challenge seriously; while Prof. T. V. Rao, Chief Guest spoke about creating benchmarks since learning is a continuous process. He also said that it is important to look for opportunities and to come up with innovation.
On the occasion, ISTD Bangalore Chapter gave away “Teachers Day Awards 2024” to prominent Institutions & Individuals for their contribution to Training & Development. Dr. Vijayshree, Secretary, ISDT Bangalore introduced the awardees. Mr. Umar Ismail Khan, Chairman, Al-Ameen Educational Society received the Institutional Award for outstanding contribution to Social Development & People Empowerment.
The other recipients were Prof. T. V. Rao for outstanding contribution to Training & Development; Canara Learning & Development Centre, Canara Bank received Institutional Award for outstanding contribution to Social-Economic Development & People Empowerment; Prof. K. N. Godamani for Lifetime Achievement in Teaching; Prof. B. Thyagaraj for outstanding contribution to Training & Development; Mr. Sunil Koshy for outstanding contribution to Training & Development in his field; and Dr.Nisha Mary Thomas for outstanding contribution in the field of Research.
Mr. Umar Ismail Khan, Chairman, Al-Ameen Educational Society in his address reiterated that discipline, service oriented & dedication to their profession are the qualities that earn respect. He praised a few of the faculty at Al-Ameen for their unique contribution.
He asked the teachers to create a positive atmosphere & ensure that the students are happy and said that it is imperative & necessary that we as educators give back to the society through knowledge sharing & mentorship.
He also welcomed the offer of Mr. Sunil Koshy, Music Director to open a “Music Club” at Al-Ameen.
