International Women’s Day Celebrations in the Campus

Women face unique challenges in their quest to make an impact, and there is a dire need to focus on inclusion of women in all walks of life, not just on the basis of gender equality but to command respect and recognition as well. And yet inspite of cultural & systemic hurdles, women across the globe continue to challenge and continue to rise through impact, by being focused, firm & committed, overriding old paradigms & creating better, and a more inclusive future for themselves. Every woman needs to be applauded and encouraged as she is a superwoman in her own little way.

Al-Ameen celebrated International Women’s Day on 9th March 2022. Ms. Sowmya Reddy, the only woman MLA in Bangalore and the daughter of the former Home Minister, Sri Ramalinga Reddy, was invited as the Chief Guest.

On this occasion, she acknowledged and spoke about the role of parents, teachers and the institution in the success of women. She stressed on the need to cash upon every opportunity to help and serve people and encouraged women to be strong & help each other so as to do away with injustice, which is a social ill and is spreading like wild fire in the country today. She said that it’s important for us to remember the people who have sacrificed their lives for the country and asked the students to read the Preamble of the Constitution of India, once a month.

She praised the Founder, Late Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Saheb and said that is not a simple task to run an educational institution for more than 50 years. She applauded Mr. Umar Ismail Khan Saheb, the Chairman of Al-Ameen Educational Society for carrying forward his father’s legacy in running the Al-Ameen Institutions and providing scholarship to uplift the weaker sections of the society.

Dr. Ahmed Shariff Siraj, Vice Chairman, Al-Ameen Educational Society, Mr. Mohd. Yousuf Khan @ Aslam, Joint Secretary, Al-Ameen Educational Society, Dr. Sartaj Khan, Principal, Al-Ameen Arts Science & Commerce College, Dr. Salahuddin, Principal, Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy along with the staff and students were present for the celebrations.

To mark the occasion, a memento was given as a token of recognition to all the women staff members by the Management of Al-Ameen Educational Society and the senior women of Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies Mrs. Rizwana Khanum & Mrs. Saraswathi were also felicitated by Ms. Sowmya Reddy.
